Assignment 1: Mad Grab
Throw or hand build five forms. Theses forms will then be put into a draft. Each student will pick five forms from other students then combine these forms together to make one larger form.
Assignment 2:
Make 10 cups . Create a template so this form can be repeated. These cups can be hand-built or thrown. Pick a shop glaze. Get the recipe for that glaze and run glaze test by changing the colorants in that glaze.
Assignment 3:
Self Portrait- Take 4 images of yourself ( front view, right side view, back view and left side view). You will be building a self portrait the 11 inches tall. Trace your images with a sharpie with tracing paper. this will help you define the important features.

Assignment 4:
Pick a historical object that is not made of clay. Replicate this form in clay. Part two of this assignment is to then take what was learned in this process and create a hybrid form using the knowledge gained with what you have been doing. Be ready to explain your decision making while pointing out the intersections of theses two forms.
Students will work on producing a mature body of
work. Assignments will be challenging while teaching important ceramic skills.
Wheel throwing and or hand-building techniques will be demonstrated. More
advanced glazing techniques and glaze mixing will be covered and students will
be encouraged to participate in loading and firing the kilns.
