Shows and Opportunities

On behalf of Northern Clay Center, I am very excited to announce our newest grant program for emerging artists, the Warren MacKenzie Advancement Award.  This award provides emerging ceramic artists/students with an opportunity to continue their ceramic research and education, and expand their professional development.  Recipients can research new techniques or processes, study with a mentor or in an apprenticeship setting, travel to other ceramic art centers or institutions for classes and workshops, collaborate with artists of other media, and travel.  Between two and three cash awards of up to $4,000 will be made in 2014 (projects to take place between May 1, 2014 and April 30, 2015).

I am looking for your help in forwarding this information to students who may be eligible for this opportunity.  Eligible applicants include current undergraduate and graduate ceramic students, students who have completed academic training in the last year; and individuals who have completed a university equivalent training or education in ceramics (including apprenticeships).  Please see northernclaycenter.org for complete eligibility.  Application deadline is 5:00 pm CST on April 18, 2014.  The application is also available and submittable at northernclaycenter.org   Please contact me should you have any questions.
